Projects
kr3m
My responsibilites at kr3m consist not only of everything Game Design-related, but designing websites and management tools, taking part in quality assurance and dealing with clients, as well. I usually was the sole designer for all the projects I worked on.
As I worked on several dozen projects since starting to work at kr3m the following list is only an excerpt.
Cuboro Browsergame
This version of the popular marble run-toy for desktop and mobile web browsers includes new and unique game mechanics, lots of levels and social features. It will be published shortly.
My tasks included System Design, Feature Design, Interface and Interaction Design, Level Design, Balancing, Monetization, Localisation, Documentation and Quality Assurance.
Planet Schule Hörspielbaukasten
The Planet Schule Hörspielbaukasten is a tool for schools to get their young students to understand the way a audio drama is put together and how different the same story can turn out with the use of various ways of pronunciation and other ambient sounds.

My tasks included System Design, Feature Design, Interface and Interaction Design, Usability Testing with kids aged 7 to 12, Additional Project Management, Documentation and Quality Assurance.
Sage Bürokratiemonster
This time management game for desktop and mobile web browsers features challenging gameplay, several different and cuddly monsters to deal with and a charming storyline spread over the course of all levels.
My tasks included System Design, Feature Design, Interaction Design, Balancing, Level Design, Story, Localisation, Documentation and Quality Assurance.
Casual Games
In addition to the aforementioned games I also worked on various other casual games, including games with pair mechanics, puzzle games with match-3 mechanics, bubble shooters, a drawing game and various others.
A few of these games already existed and my tasks were mostly concerning Usability Updates, Level Design, Feature Design and Quality Assurance.
The others I designed myself and my tasks included System Design, Interface and Interaction Design, Balancing, Content Design, Documentation and Localisation, as well.
Websites
I also worked on and designed several websites.
My tasks on these included Interface and Interaction Design, Gamification, Documentation, Implementing Fanbooster-Pages, Analysis and Quality Assurance.
Management Tools
In addition I worked on and designed some management tools to edit and implement content and to enable easy user interaction.
My tasks included Interface and Interaction Design, Feature Design, Documentation, Analysis and Quality Assurance.
Upjers
I worked at Upjers for one year, starting off with only one project and then being assigned to more.
Being the sole designer for these games, I was in charge of everything design related while keeping the games bug-free through testing, the programmers and artists busy with new features and content requests and the project managers and business owners happy by making the games fun.
All games are for browser and tablet.
Among other things I worked on the following games:
Uptasia
Uptasia is a business simulation game combined with a hidden object game, set in 19th century Europe.
The first game I was assigned to and all the game design was solely my responsibility up until I left upjers. The game has been published shortly after I left.
Kapifari
In Kapifari you help animals in need, explore Africa and build up your station.
This game was already open beta when I took over.
Most of my tasks on this game were concerning interfaces, some balancing, content and events.
Molehill Empire
Molehill Empire is a farming game.
As Molehill Empire is one of Upjers' earliest games, my tasks on this one were mostly concerning new features (e.g. screenshot above, the garden shed decoration feature), interfaces and events.
Games Academy
While studying at the Games Academy Frankfurt I worked on two PC games.
Bubble Fusion
Bubble Fusion was the first game anyone of our team had ever made.
It is a retro-style 2D Sidescroll-Shooter with charming underwater setting, challenging gameplay and funny story. The player controls a slightly crazy and slightly radioactive piranha and shoots various radioactive bubbles at the enemy fish to beat the game and reach a new highscore.
My tasks inlcuded Lead Design, Game Design, Level Design, Content Design, GDD and Additional Programming.
Cinderella: The Aftermath
Cinderella: The Aftermath is a PC Horror Tower Defense in 2D. Twisting and turning the fairy tale of Cinderella into a horrifying adventure, the game has an extraordinary setting and story.
Despite the team only consisting of three people (1 programmer, 2 designers, no artist) we managed to not only make the game we (almost) wanted, we also made it look quite nice, I think.
The few missing features will be implemented one day, as well. I guess.
My tasks included Game Design, Level Design, Interaction and Interface Design, Bossfight Design, Content Design, Balancing, Project Management and Art and Animation.
